Hotel Spotlight: Cafe Royal London

Located in the heart of central London, between Mayfair and Soho, the ultra chic Café Royal has recently reopened after a four-year long renovation.

The hotel’s historic interior has been tastefully and luxuriously restored, while boasting new elements of modern design.

Just steps from the hotel are glamorous private members clubs, elegant boutiques, fine-dining restaurants, coffee shops and bars.

The hotel is also a stone’s throw from some of London’s iconic tourist landmarks such as Westminster and Buckingham Palace, Covent Garden, the Royal Opera House and Royal Hyde Park. It’s basically the perfect location, whatever the reason you are in town for.

The iconic Grill Room is probably our favorite spot in the hotel; the perfect place to relax with a glass of champagne and a light snack. This sophisticated and swanky space, with gilded ceilings and luxurious banquettes, has seen its share of fabulous parties, glamorous celebrities and important business deals over the years.

Because of this, so much thought was put into the renovation, restoring the original feel and décor that dates back to 1865.

The hotel will also open brand new Akasha Holistic Wellbeing Centre late summer, featuring a state of the art gym, spa, yoga and pilates studios, large pool, and organic bar!

Hotel Spotlight: The Inn at Palmetto Bluff

There is just something about the beginning of summer; longer days and balmy warm nights that make us yearn for the south. Yes, we know it’s humid… (that’s what cocktails and the ocean are for).

Last summer we decided to just rent a car and drive down the southern coast, stopping and staying in some of our favorite towns along the way. Experiencing warm summer rain, MUCH warmer ocean water than we get over here on the West coast, and the friendliest people who make the best food ever.

One place we didn’t stay, but we did stopped along the way for lunch, was the Inn at Palmetto Bluff, in-between Charleston and Savannah. If we had it all to do over again, we would have made the time for sure.

The hotel, an Auberge Resort, is comprised of all cottages and homes, set amongst towering trees and the tranquil May River; the very essence of true southern charm. Bike, kayak, ride horses, or just relax and enjoy the world-renowned spa that Auberge Resorts are famous for.

Truly, a one of a kind experience that is not to be missed.  We will let the below pictures speak for themselves.

Restaurant Spotlight: Restaurant Michael Schwartz at The Raleigh Hotel

SBE knows how to do restaurants, and Restaurant Michael Schwartz is, as expected, no exception. The location itself is spectacular; on the Raleigh Hotel’s gorgeous pool deck and upper lobby, the charm of the surroundings would be enough, but then you taste the food! MS_OutdoorBar
The menu at this swanky and unique new dining experience is comprised of dishes inspired by the colorful history and charm of the hotel itself. We recommend you start your evening off with the restaurant’s signature Steel Cup Mint Julep cocktail – probably the best we have ever had – before moving onto one of chef Michael Schwartz’s mouth watering dishes.

Labeled small (loved the Steak Tartare), medium (the Grilled Chicken Wings), large (Grilled Rib Eye, wow!) and extra large (The Fish Stew, not normally something we would order, but SO glad we did!). The Cuban Coffee Pots de Crème dessert was also to DIE for. Menus are updated daily giving guests new and exciting options each time they visit!

The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily and also offers poolside and bar service, boxed beach lunches, and in room dining as well. So you will NOT be missing out regardless!
