Hotel Spotlight: Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa, Gaafu Alif Atoll

How does it get more perfect than this?
When we were offered the opportunity to go check out this gorgeous property for ourselves, we jumped at the chance, sending a very thrilled Rebecca, who left behind a very sad and very pregnant Natalie.

This luxury hotel is located on a tiny island (it takes just 20 minutes to walk around the island) in the North Huvadhoo (Gaafu Alifu) atoll – 400 kilometers south of Malé and just 56 kilometers north of the Equator.

Upon arrival into Malé International Airport, we were met by a Park Hyatt representative who escorted us to the VIP Lounge where we were handed our own personal iPads for our entire stay. The representative then assisted with our check-in even before we were escorted to the property.

Next, we embarked on a short 45-minute domestic flight with an authentic ‘Maldivian’ to Kooddoo Domestic Airport located in the North Huvadhoo (Gaafu Alifu) atoll.

Once we arrived into Kooddoo Domestic Airport, we were escorted to an awaiting speedboat for an enjoyable and calm 20-minute transfer to the resort. We were met by a friendly welcome team and offered Champagne refreshments and nibbles before being escorted to our room on an electric golf cart.

How about a glass of Champagne while you swim across two hemispheres? Don’t mind if I do!

They also run a PADI 5-Star Dive Centre — offering dive programs for all ages and experience levels including; Bubble Maker, Discover Scuba Diving and PADI certification courses. Park Hyatt Maldives restaurant

The restaurants are to die for! Guests have the option of the Dining Room (a la carte) which is where we ate the first night, or The Island Grill (signature restaurant) just off the beach where we ate the second night after cocktails watching the sunset.

There are also the options of private dining for a family/group, or a romantic dinner for two at various locations around the island; including one out on the beach where you can dig your toes in the sand and watch the moon rise.

The menu options are varied and diverse and it’s impossible to eat the same thing twice due to their incredible range of ingredients, skilled chef and team.
